In this blog post, I will show you how to create an Area of Responsibility (AOR) and an Exclusion Rule for a specific employee in Oracle Fusion. This can help you restrict the access of the employee to certain data based on your business needs.
The steps are as follows:
1. Select a particular employee for whom we want to create an AOR. You can use the Person Management work area to search for the employee by name, person number, or other attributes.
2. Create an AOR based on the specific criteria. For example, you can create an AOR that includes all the employees who report to the same manager as the selected employee, or who belong to the same department, or who have the same job or position.
3. Create an Exclusion rule based on specific criteria. For example, you can create an Exclusion rule that excludes all the employees who have a certain grade, or who are on a certain assignment status, or who have a certain payroll relationship.
4. Create a person security profile based on AOR and add the exclusion rule. You can use the Person Security Profiles, create a new person security profile, and select the AOR that you created in step 2. Then, you can add the Exclusion rule that you created in step 3 to the person security profile. This will ensure that the employee can only access the data of the people who are included in the AOR and excluded by the Exclusion rule.
5. Create a data role and add the person security in the data role. You can use the Data Roles and Security Profiles task to create a new data role and assign it a job role. Then, you can add the person security profile that you created in step 4 to the data role. This will grant the employee the access privileges defined by the data role.
6. Regenerate the data role. You can regenerate the data role that you created in step 5. This will apply the changes to the security policies and refresh the data role cache.
