How to create a Descriptive Flexfields or DFF?

Part:1 Created a Character Descriptive Flexfield

· First you need to open the page where want to create DFF

· example Person Management

· search any person

· open that person information

· click on your name profile icon

· click on Highlight Flexfields

· under the assignment page you will get flexfield icon

· click on the Pencil icon

· click on +

· give any name and click outside of the field

· select Data Type as Character

· select Value Set = HRC_CHAR_150

· under display properties

· give your Prompt name which will display on the employees' assignment page

· select display type, like how your field will display to the employees

· display size = 20

· display height = 10

· click on the BI Enabled checkbox to show that this field will show in the report

· Save and Close

Part:2 Created a Value Set Descriptive Flexfield

· Click on the Pencil icon

· click on +

· give any name and click outside of the field

· select Data Type as Character

· click on Create Value Set

· give Value Set Code

· Module = HR

· Validation Type = Independent

· Value Data Type = Character

· Value Subtype = Text

· Maximum Length = 150

· click on Save

· click on Manage Values

· click on +

· Save and Close

· Click on Deploy Flexfield

· Ok

· Logout and Login

· it will take some time to display or else you can go to Incognito Window
