Oracle HCM allows organizations to enable approval workflows for Development Goals under the Career Development module. This ensures that goals set by employees go through managerial review and approval before they are officially recorded.
🛠 Steps to Enable Approvals for Development Goals
1️⃣ Access Setup and Maintenance
📍 Navigation Path:
👉 Setup and Maintenance → Select Offering = Workforce Development
- The Workforce Development offering contains Career Development and Goal Management settings.
2️⃣ Configure Development Goal Approval Rules
📍 Steps:
1️⃣ Navigate to My Client Groups → Goals → Setup and Maintenance.
2️⃣ Search for Manage Approval Rules for Development Goals.
3️⃣ Click Edit Rule under the Development Goal Approval Process.
4️⃣ Define who needs to approve goals (e.g., Line Manager, HR, or Multi-Level Approvals).
5️⃣ Save the rule and Activate the Workflow.
3️⃣ Enabling Approval Workflow in Goal Plan
📍 Steps:
1️⃣ Navigate to Manage Goal Plans.
2️⃣ Open the Goal Plan Template where approval is required.
3️⃣ Ensure that the Approval Required checkbox is enabled for Development Goals.
4️⃣ Save and publish the Goal Plan.
4️⃣ Employee Submitting Development Goal for Approval
📍 Navigation:
👉 Me → Career and Performance → Development Goals → Add Goal
1️⃣ Employees enter a development goal.
2️⃣ Submit the goal for approval.
3️⃣ The goal moves to Pending Approval status until the manager approves it.
5️⃣ Manager Reviewing and Approving Development Goals
📍 Navigation:
👉 My Team → Career and Performance → Development Goals → Pending Approval
1️⃣ The manager receives a notification for goal approval.
2️⃣ They can approve, reject, or request modifications.
3️⃣ Once approved, the goal is added to the employee’s goal plan.
