How to Make the Comment Field Required in Approval Transactions in Oracle HCM

1. Requirement:

Making the Comment Field mandatory in approval transactions ensures that approvers provide justifications when approving or rejecting requests.

2. Steps to Configure Required Comments in Approval Transactions:

  1. Navigate to Setup and Maintenance → Manage Task Configuration.
  2. Go to BPM Worklist → Task Configuration Tab and select the relevant workflow task.
  3. Click the Edit Task icon in the Tasks to Be Configured toolbar.
  4. Select the Configuration subtab.
  5. In the Approvals Pre-Conditions, set the option for both Approve and Reject actions to require comments.
  6. Click the Commit Task icon to apply and roll out the changes.
