A global transfer is a movement of a person from one legal employer to another legal employer (e.g., transfer of an employee from a Canadian LE to a US EL).
Step to do the Global Transfer
Person Management > Search for the person with whom you want to do the global transfer > Click on edit > Click on update > Give the effective date > Select the action called Global Transfer from the action list > Here you need to select the option you want to copy primary data in another legal employer or not.
When you transfer a person, from one legal employer to another legal employer then the work relationship will remain unchanged.
You can also reassign and add direct reports to a manager during the transfer process. You can reassign reports to the same manager or to different managers.
How Global Transfers are Processed
When you transfer a person from one legal employer to another legal employer, the primary assignment is terminated automatically using the default values. Now you need to select the destination legal employer to create a new work relationship with another legal employer. The existing assignments are terminated and their status is set to Inactive- Payroll Eligible by default. But you can override the status to another status called Inactive – No Payroll Eligible.
A person does not automatically transfer to another payroll during a global transfer. If you are using Oracle Global Payroll, then a notification is automatically sent to the Payroll Administrator when you create a new work relationship using the Global Transfer action. The Payroll Administrator then completes the relevant tasks to transfer the person to another payroll.
You can perform a global transfer for a person with a future termination date, using the Person Management work area. The global transfer terminates the existing work relationship a day before the start date of the new work relationship.
