Position Overview

  • The position is a low-level categorization of the employee's role (assignment)
  • A job, a business unit, and a department are required to create a positions
  • HR data can be defaulted which pre-populates the employee assignment – location, manager, assignment category, probation period, grade, and grade ladder
  • Position types define if establishment control is validated – single incumbents fixed FTE, and headcounts for multiple occupancies
