Preventing Unintended Salary Change Records with Zero Increase

Issue Description:

  • Salary change records showing zero increase were being unintentionally generated.
  • Root cause: Inclusion of the Salary section during transactions like:
    • Change Assignment
    • Change Location
    • Change Working Hours
  • Even without entering salary data, the system identified a change and created a zero increase record.

Resolution Steps Taken:

  • Removed the Salary Section from the affected transaction types.
  • As a result:
    • If no salary data is entered, the system no longer records a zero increase.
    • Salary changes will only be recorded when an actual update is made.

Further Action (If Issue Persists):

  • If zero increase entries still appear after removing the salary section, then:
    • The only solution is to raise a Service Request (SR) with Oracle Support for further investigation.
